Sal Lupoli Jr., a former star at Phillips Andover, gets ready to make a run at the quarterback from his linebacker position for Bentley.

All Sal Lupoli Jr. wanted was a shot, a chance of being on the same stage with his big-time college brethren.

Well, the Phillips Academy grad and Bentley University Div. 2 All-American will get that chance.

Lupoli was called this morning to attend the Tennessee Titans mini-camp May 10 to May 13.

"I've worked for this opportunity for so long and now I got it," said Lupoli. "I am in heaven right now."

Lupoli will fly down to the Nashville, Tenn. on May 9 and will be ready, he says, what lies ahead.

Lupoli, who played linebacker at Bentley, where he broke the all-time school in record in tackles, also leading the nation (Div. 2), last fall.

He attended three Pro Days over the last month, thus earning another look by the Titans.

"They will get the best of me," said the Chelmsford resident and former Lions star. "I still can't believe it. But it happened."
